Disneyland Day 1

We had such a great time in California! My confession is this...we were not too good about taking pictures. I just kept forgetting and it was such a hassle plus the boys would not cooperate for pictures. We did not even do the classics in front of the castle or in the front of Disneyland. We are going back this weekend and will be better because we will be with Whit and she can help me out. Anyway, here is a recap of our first day at Disneyland!

We left Wednesday morning and got to our hotel around 2:00. We checked in and dropped our stuff and headed to Disneyland. The parade was about to start just as we got there so we thought it would be a great time to hit up some rides. We went to Fantasyland and rode a few of the rides there. I was mostly worried about standing in line but the boys were so good. They just played with the chains and the fences and loved the attention they were getting. I think they were entertaining everyone around us too! We could hear all the comments about the "red-headed twins" and as people would get closer they would tell us how beautiful they were! The boys were so fascinated on the rides. They just sat there wide eyed trying to take it all in. I was worried they would cry on the scary parts but they never did, not once.

We went to Toon Town and let them run around to burn some energy! After that we watched the parade. Before the parade started they had the "grand marshall" who won a night stay in the "fantasy suite." It was this little 6 year old boy who had the biggest smile on his face I have ever seen. I started to cry. I know that my kids are too little to understand where we were or what we were doing but it was so fun to be there with them. I was thinking back to all the fun memories I had in this magical place and I was so choked up. I decided right there that this trip was worth it because even though they will not remember it, Ryan and I will. The parade was so well done and my kids absolutely loved it. We were on the very front row and they got so much attention. As all the characters went by they would come up to Brady and Easton and blow them kisses and stuff. It was so much fun! We decided we were going to stay in the park as long as they were being good. We went on a few more rides and then decided to go on Pirates of the Carribean. They were having fun and loving it one minute and the next minute Brady was passed out on Ryan's lap. We knew we were done and we had worn them out. We headed back to our hotel and all went to bed exhausted. It was such a fun first day and Ryan and I were so excited for the days to come!

Thanks for posting the pictures... I have been waiting for them. They look so cute and happy - I think Disneyland really is the "happiest place on earth".

I was just there and I'm still jealous. We have to to together sometime, so the kids can be there with their cousins.
