Happy Birthday Mommy - - Go Cougars!

Today is my wonderful mother's birthday! I am so glad I am here to celebrate with her. I am so lucky to have such a great mom who would do anything for me or my children. We love you so much mommy, thanks for all you do! We hope you have a wonderful day!

We are hoping the cougars will pull out a victory for her birthday! The big game is tonight and we will be watching! The boys have on their Y shirts and are ready to cheer their cougars to victory. We have been practicing the fight song all morning! I thought this picture was appropriate because it is of my mom wearing her BYU shirt. GO COUGARS!

Homemade Stockings!

Brady and Easton have their very own homemade stockings this year. Aleena was so nice to help me make these for the boys and I think they turned out pretty cute! Geoff says I should have made them different so I could pick which one was better but that is exactly why I made them the same. I am glad we finished them before I leave to go home. Thanks for all your help Aleena and for letting me hang out with you! You are the best!

What Do You Think?!?

So I am upstairs working away and the boys wake up from their nap. I go get them and come downstairs to this... Yep you guess it, Ryan shaved his head. Okay so he has been telling me he was going to do this for a while but had never gone through with it and honestly I never thought he would. Today he went and got his haircut and hated it so he came home and shaved it himself. I am just mad he got his hair cut first, what a waste of money. I told him he looks like he is going into the military. His hair grows really fast but I guess we will have a hairless daddy for the holidays! I am sure it will grow on us?!?

Bad Mood

Today I was in a very bad mood...seriously! It all started when I either turned off the baby monitor last night or this morning (without being conscious) and didn't hear my kids crying. When I went in to get them they were crying so hard they were convulsing, I am not kidding. I felt like the worst mom. I fed them breakfast and decided to make it up to them by letting them take a bath! Brady has now decided that he can walk anywhere, including the bathtub. The problem is he reaches for anything in sight to catch himself and most of the time it is Easton. Reaching for Easton while walking in the bathtub, not such a good idea, I thought he was going to drown him. Then he thought it was funny and kept doing it over and over. I decided Brady had to get out so I could wash off Easton. I wrapped him in a towel and layed him on the floor which he quickly squirmed out of and started crawling around my bedroom naked. Oh so fun!

I finally got them dressed and went to put them down for a nap and came to work only to find out my computer would not work. After calling my boss and wasting nearly 1 hour, I finally got it to work but only to have my kids wake up 20 minutes later. I fed them lunch and we headed out to finish off our Christmas cards. I could not find paper I liked but finally just bought some so I could get them done with and in the mail. I went to make copies of our letter but the line was too long and the boys were fussy so I came home with nothing accomplished.

I tried to cook but that never goes well with my kids because they sit at my feet and smack their lips at me, it is so annoying but kind of funny!

They finally went down for another nap and I started to work. Ryan got home and then they woke up so I passed them on to him. When dinner was ready I went downstairs and it was all downhill from there. I looked over and could see my kids eating something off the ground and guess what it was...a glass ornament they had shattered and were eating. Oh don't worry, I freaked out. I picked up Easton and started to cry (just a little) and frantically tried to get it all out of his mouth. Ryan did the same with Brady, minus the crying part. Yes Renee, the ones I got from Pier 1, so annoying. They have not been interested in my tree at all which I have been so happy about, but today that is no longer true. If you come to my house and only the top half is decorated, you will know why!

Seriously, then I got mad at Ryan for no reason and took out my bad mood out on him, poor guy. He went to scouts and I went to Geoff and Aleena's and crashed their dinner and told them all about my bad day and my "rude husband" (who really is not that rude...sorry Geoff and Aleena)

In the end, Ryan and I sat on the couch and talked with the Christmas tree lit and all the lights off! It was a good ending to a crazy day! He really is a great husband and does put up with me which is not an easy thing to do!

Let's just say I am so glad I had Dr. Pepper in the house (thank you secret santa) to help me get through the day! More to come about that soon :)

More Weekend Fun!

On Saturady Geoff came over to watch the BYU game and we hung out while I addressed Christmas cards. Ryan was studying and Aleena was writing a talk. We all ended up here later that afternoon and decided we were going to go to Lake Las Vegas to get something to eat and see the gingerbread houses that were on display. We piled in the van and drove out there. I have to say we were a little disappointed when we got there and the Christmas tree was not even lit up. We walked around to find somewhere to eat but it was all a little too pricy for us. We decided we would just look at the gingerbread houses quick and then go get something to eat. We couldn't figure out where to go so Geoff and Ryan decided to run into the Ritz Carlton and ask. They came out laughing because they were in jeans and sweatshirts and everyone around them were in formals and suits. We figured out where to go and found about 6 gingerbread houses. They were neat but I don't know if it was worth the hassel of driving out there. Oh well!We ended up ordering pizza and coming back to our house to watch the Heisman Trophy thing...how exciting! It actually was a pretty fun day and once again we were so glad we had that van we could pile in and all go together!

Walking In A Cactus Wonderland!

We had such a fun night! We went over to Geoff and Aleena's house for yummy soup! Here is Easton chillin' in Laila's bouncer! Then we all piled in the van and headed to the Cactus Farms where they had Christmas lights on all the cacti! I didn't really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up and saw all the lights. It was actually really cool. Aleena and I started singing, "Walking in a cactus wonderland!" We had a lot of fun looking at all the lights and Ryan was trying to read what all the cacti were called and where they were from. After we walked around for a bit and took pictures we went inside and had Ethel M hot chocolate (rumor has it she is the wife of the guy who created M&M's) It was super rich and I now have a tummy ache but it was a great experience! Ryan also bought chocolates for everyone to try. He bought peanut butter and jelly and egg nog...sick! He did buy caramel for me because I would not try those risky flavors. The store was neat, there were couches everywhere and it was all decorated in pinks and purples and had cute chocolate sayings all around. We had a great night. Enlarge these pictures and you can see the cactus and palm tree with lights on them...kind of funny! These pictures really don't do the place justice. It was really neat and the whole thing was lit up! I sound like a broken record but we are so lucky to have such a great relationship with Geoff's family and are so lucky they live 2 minutes away. We love spending time with them and are grateful for all the fun memories! Thanks for a great night! Thanks Rachel for the idea!

"Parade of Traditions"

We had a fun enrichment tonight. It was called "Parade of Traditions." All the women met at the church and then were split into 4 groups. There were 4 host homes (ours was one of them) that the groups rotated through. I had to share Christmas traditions with each group as they came through. We all met at one house at the end where we had hot chocolate and cake and there were carolers there (the same ones we saw at The District on Saturday night.) I am sad that I was not able to go from house to house and hear about all the other traditions, but it was fun to have people here and share my favorite holiday traditions. It was, once again, a wonderful way to get in the Christmas spirit. I truly love this time of year and I am enjoying all the fun we are having!

Happy Birthday My Sister - My Friend!

Happy birthday to my little sister Abbey! Today she is no longer a teenager, she has hit the big 20 mark! Abbey and I have a very special relationship and she is truly one of my best friends in the world. Abbey is one of the most fun people to be around and can always make me laugh. Now days you can usually find us watching our shows, playing cards or going on DP runs. No matter what we are doing, I guarantee she has me laughing. Thank you for being a wonderful sister, aunt and friend. We love you and hope you have a wonderful day!

Funny Kids!

The other day Ryan was trying to childproof our cupboards in the kitchen. The problem was we could not get the boys to stop going in there. I finally had the bright idea to block them in the family room. This worked for about 2 minutes and then they figured out they could climb over the box. I guess I need a new system for trapping my kids, it used to work.

Tonight we were lucky enough to watch Aria. I love when she comes over because my kids think she is so funny! They watched Toy Story for a long time and then all disappeared into the kitchen. Pretty soon I heard them laughing hysterically. I ran in there with my camera and recorded Aria making them laugh with the video thing but it won't upload. I am so sad :( I have watched it like 4 times and laughed my head off so I wish I could share it but it won't work. Sorry but if I ever do figure out how to do it I will post it!

Happy Birthday Gandma and More!

Today is my Grandma Joyce's Birthday! She is such a wonderful grandma and we love her! We hope you have a wonderful day Grandma!
December 2 was also my due date. I was so excited that it was Grandma's birthday but as soon as we found out we were having twins we knew I would never go that long. It is crazy to think they should only be 1 and instead they are 13 1/2 months old.

It is only noon and my kids have already had me laughing all morning. Brady (my mama's boy) was so whiny and in my face this morning but Easton (my chill kid) was just happy to be hanging out. Ryan and I were watching Sports Center and Easton just layed on the floor with his hands behind and his head and watched for like 5 minutes. It was so funny. They just woke up from their nap and have been climbing all over each other playing with the soccer ball my mom bought them at Ikea. They are so much fun and are usually pretty good at entertaining each other which is so nice for us. I love my kids!

Friends, Food, Carolers and Football

So I used to be so good about taking my camera everywhere and taking a picture of everything but lately I have been so bad. I promise to be better but for now you will have to read my posts without pictures.

We had a great Saturday. This morning I worked and Ryan helped a friend move and then we cleaned our house. We finally got ready for the day and had a visit from Nick (Ryan's good high school friend), Sunni, Luke and Logan Lyman. It was so fun to spend some time with them and catch up. Their boys are darling and we quickly learned that Luke loves balls! We are so glad they stopped by.

After they left we went to The District to grab some dinner. We ate at Panera Bread and it was fabulous! I got chocolate chip cookies for FREE and they were so yummy! When we walked out of there we heard music but couldn't tell if it was people singing or a recording. We walked around the corner and there were Christmas Carolers singing out in the cold. We stopped and listened to them sing a few songs. They were so good and it was so fun! It really put us in the Christmas spirit. I love this season and I am so excited about all the fun things there are to see and do!

We have also been watching college football on and off all day. I have to admit, I actually kind of enjoy it. I think it is my favorite sport to watch, not professional, just college. Today there were a ton of upsets so we are currently sitting on the couch, with all the lights off and our Christmas tree lights on, listening to all the people analyze the national championship game. I love that Ryan has this passion and I am pretty good at pretending I know what is going on. We have had a great weekend as a family! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend too!

The Proud Owners Of...

Yep you guessed it, we finally pulled the plug and decided the Accord was just not big enough for our family. After much arguing, Ryan finally gave up the fight and let me get my minivan. We got a Honda Odyssey and I love it! Now what do I say to all of you who are laughing right now, don't knock it until you try it. Ryan drove it home from Utah today and actually enjoyed it! We push a button on the keys and the doors open for us, we have an optional 8th seat and plenty of cargo for our huge double stroller. I could not be happier! I love my minivan. To be honest, I think my friend Amber and I signed a disclaimer back in junior high that we would never drive a minivan and here I am, proud as can be to have one! I guess things change huh?!? Today as we were driving home Ryan asked me what my car's name was?!? I said, "MY CAR huh?" Well he still calls the white corolla he has to drive "MY CAR" so I guess now I have 2 cars and he has none. We named it "LC" (for those of you who watch The Hills) but for Loser Cruiser. I am fine with being a loser, I am practical and happy with our new purchase :) We really are excited about it and seeing as Ryan and I have been married for 3 years and have gone through 3 cars in that time we are hoping that this one will last a while! Hopefully we don't have triplets next or we might have to upgrade to a 13 passenger van--then we would really get made fun of!

Fun in Utah (with a little drama)!

We have had a fun week in Utah! It has been very eventful...never a dull moment at the Hill home.

We hung out, went shopping, ate Brick Oven (my favorite), celebrated birthday's etc. On Wed. night we were all hanging out when Aria (Geoff and Aleena's little girl) fell off the couch and ended up in the ER. They did an x-ray and couldn't find a break but they still thought there was one. She has been walking around with a splint and a sling since. It is pretty cute! She is actually using it today more and we are thinking maybe it is not broken so that is the good news!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family! We were surrounded by lots of people that we love and were able to have a great dinner. My kids loved the yams and the green bean casserole, they ate it up! My grandma has been a little under the weather so it was fun to take a picture with all her great grandkids that were here! The kids danced to High School Musical, we played games (I won both) and ate and ate and ate.
My sisters, my mom and I decided to join all those crazy people out there and hit up the sales. We went to Mervyn's at 4:00 then on to Shopko at 5:00. We ended up at Toys R Us where we just looked at all the stuff people were buying because their lines were unbelievably long. Was it worth it? Probably not. Was it fun? Yes. Would I do it again? I don't know, I am pretty dang tired right now!

I got home and went back to sleep for 1 hour before Ryan woke me up so he could go play basketball. I was looking forward to a relaxing day hanging out with the family. The boys were playing and having fun! My parents have this stupid brick fireplace at their house which has always scared me because I have always feared someone falling on it. Today that fear came true...Easton fell into it and sliced his head open. He was a tough kid and only cried for a minute but then just went right back to playing. Of course I had an emotional breakdown at the thought of my child have a scarred face for life. Luckily, with the help of my wonderful dad, I was able to get a plastic surgeon to do the stitches for us so hopefully it won't be too bad. Easton did not like having the shot and had to be held down, it was so sad. Then we had to hold him down again with this stupid thing over his face while the doctor stitched it up. I was trying so hard not to cry. Poor kid! He was fine the minute they were done and it has not bothered him all day. He is such a good kid.

The best part about all of this is that Geoff's family and my family are having family pictures tomorrow. They will have Aria in a cast and we will have Easton with stitches in his head. Seriously, what good timing!

We also had an exciting evening but I will write about it tomorrow...I promise. It is very exciting though so I would definitely recommend checking back soon! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to avoid the ER...our family has been twice!

We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet...and more!

I am so grateful for a living prophet on this earth today who guides and directs us. I love President Hinckley! I think he is a wonderful man with a great sense of humor who has done so much good for our church.

When I think of President Hinckley I also think of Temples. I am also grateful for the Temple! I am so lucky to be sealed to my wonderful husband and children for eternity! The Temple is the most wonderful place on this earth and I love going there!

On a completely different note...today was a good day! We got to watch Aria which is always fun! She was so sad to see her daddy leave but luckily this time it is only for 2 days! This is a funny story about her. She found something she could not have and wanted it. I told her no and she went and layed on the ground and started pouting. I was cooking dinner so I just let her lay there and told her to come get me when she was done pouting. A few minutes went by and it was silent so I finally came in the family room to check on her and I found her passed out on my floor. It was so funny. She layed down to pout and ended up falling asleep. I had Ryan carry her up to bed and she slept until Aleena got home. She is so fun!
We also put up our Christmas tree today (since I am leaving tomorrow and will not be back until Sunday) We were so worried about Brady and Easton and were trying to figure out some way to elevate it or block it off. We decided to just see what they did. To our surprise, they were not interested in the tree at all. They hardly even looked at it. Finally tonight right before we put them to bed they decided they just wanted to look at it. This is not the best picture of the tree, but I thought it was so cute that they just sat in front of it and stared at it...they never touched it! So the car is packed and ready to go so I am headed to bed. We will be on the road bright and early in the morning. We are excited to come to Utah and spend Thanksgiving with the people we love! Hopefully the kids will be good in the car, cross your fingers!

Happy Birthday Aleena!

Thank You Baby Einstein, cookies and errands!

WARNING:
1. Long post but probably good for a laugh, if you're not me.
2. For those of you who do not believe in letting your children watch TV before the age of two, please navigate away from this page.

Today was what I would consider a BAD DAY for us. It started earlier than normal because Easton woke up abnormally early which put us off to a bad start. I quickly learned Ryan would not be home until late which is never a good thing for me. Then my kids were just GRUMPY. I don't know what was wrong with them but they were so sad and nothing I could do was making it better. It was one of those days, which are few and far between, that I dislike having twins because they both wanted to be held and have my undivided attention which is impossible to do and they get frustrated. Finally after trying everything I could think of, I turned on Baby Einstein and they were smiling and so happy...until it was over. They started to cry again. I needed a break so I tried to put them down for a morning nap to see what would happen. They layed there for a while talking and whining a little bit and then they fell asleep. I was so happy! Don't worry though, about 20 minutes later they were up crying again. Seriously?!? I went and got them and we got dressed and headed to play group. This was a good part of the day, they were actually happy! That is until I walked in the door from there and the crying started all over again. I fed them lunch as fast as I could and headed out again.

I went to Target and decided to stick them in the cart instead of getting out my huge stroller. I turned around for 1 second and they had stood up and were holding on to the car. Then their pants are all too big so they stepped on them and pretty soon I was walking around Target with 2 pantless children which they then proceeded to start throwing them out of the cart. I hurried out of there and went to meet my friend Rachel at the mall.

I got Easton out of the car and into the stroller and went to get Brady. When I turned back around with Brady in tote there was a lady chasing my stroller which was rolling down the parking lot. She had to have thought I was crazy. I finally got inside and figured out that I was shaking due to the fact that in all the craziness of my day I had not eaten one thing. I ran up to the eatery to get some food and went on my merry way. Pretty soon this guy was running after me yelling, "ma'am, ma'am." I turned around and he was holding my wallet. The good news is my kids were really good at the mall. Rachel bought them a cookie (which they made a mess with, sorry mall janitors) but it did the trick and they were very happy the whole time I was there. (thanks Rach)

When we got home they were exhausted so they FINALLY took a nap. Easton only lasted about 30 minutes before he woke up crying and he would not stop. Again I tried everything I could think of to calm him down and nothing was working. So, I whipped out Baby Santa's Music Box and cuddled up on the chair and rocked him. He sat there through the whole thing totally content. I got Brady up and fed them dinner and they started to whine again. Now it is 6:30 and Ryan is still not home. I am going crazy so what do I do, LEAVE the house. I have been looking for a baby gift so we headed out to continue the search. Ryan finally met us and took the kids home and put them to bed while I finished running my errands. Now I am supposed to work 4 hours a day and today I worked 1 which makes for a long weekend and a grumpier me. Oh goodie!

It was a long day and I am so glad it is over. I am hoping that tomorrow will be a better day! We rarely have days like these so I am grateful that they are few and far between. At least I always have Baby Einstein, cookies and errands ...at least for now :) Today I am grateful for bad days every once in a while to help me realize how good I USUALLY have it!

New Experiences

When Ryan and I were dating we always talked about how we wanted an experience outside of Utah, away from home. When Ryan first got accepted to the school I was so excited that we were going to have that. As it came closer to the time we were moving, I was second guessing that want. I was terrified to leave my bubble and my friends but especially my family. No offense but can I just tell you that I never pictured myself in Las Vegas?!? But, what do you do when you have a feeling something is right for your family? You go with it no matter how scary it is.

Honestly we have loved it here! We have truly been blessed with the best ward and the best friends. We also have family close by, who we adore, and it is still close enough to home. Ryan has done well in school and has made some great friends. We kind of came here on a whim, didn't see our home before we moved in and new nearly nothing about Henderson when we came. Heavenly Father definitely had a hand in us coming here and we could not be happier!

Today we are grateful for new experiences and are grateful we are enjoying them together and growing stronger as a family! Coming from one who does not like change much, this is a big step for me. We are excited to see what new experiences life holds in store for us and hope they will all be as great as this one.

Laughter

Today I am thankful for the sound of laughter, especially from my children. They have been so funny lately and have been laughing all the time. It is very contagious. On Sunday we were at church in sunday school when all of the sudden Easton got the giggles (I still have no idea why) but of course since he was laughing Brady had to too. They would not stop. Finally Ryan had to take Easton out in the hall because everyone around us was laughing. I guess I would rather have to take my child out for laughing than crying. I was so embarrassed because I was sitting next to my friend and her husband was the one teaching (sorry guys). They laugh at each other all the time and usually if one laughs the other does too. It is my favorite sound in the world right now and puts a smile on my face every time!

My kids have become quite stubborn these days. They have recently decided they are weaning themselves from two 2 hour naps to one 3 hour nap. At first I thought this would be horrible with my working schedule but it has actually worked.

They have also decided that I am not allowed to feed them. Today they cried until I gave them the spoons to feed themselves and after throwing those on the floor they went to town shoving mac'n cheese in their mouths making sure to get it in their hair and in their eyes in the mean time. The best part was they had had a bath just a few hours prior to this. (click on these to really appreciate the mess)
There is never a dull moment as a mother but my kids laughter helps get me through the crazy days!

Modern Day Conveniences and My Job!

I am so grateful for modern day conveniences especially my wash machine, dishwasher, cell phone, digital camera, TIVO, the internet, etc. These things are so wonderful and make life so much easier. I am especially thankful for the internet because of e-mail, blogs, online shopping, etc but most importantly because it has enabled me to work from home. I really need a job considering that I have a husband in school, 2 babies and a shopping habit :) Working from home is a wonderful blessing in my life and I have been lucky to have a job that enables me to be home with my kids (as much as I want to quit some days). We are so lucky to be living with all the new technology that is constantly improving!

The Gospel

Today we are so thankful for the gospel in our lives. We have had a wonderful Sabbath day enjoying spending time together and of course, resting. I am so grateful for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for all the blessings that come with it. We hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing day as well!

Fun in the Sun at the Park!

I just asked Ryan what we are grateful for and he said "the parks in Henderson." They are fun to go to because they have big trees and grass and our house lacks both! I have been thinking about how grateful I am for the sunshine and the beautiful weather we are having here in Henderson! So I guess we are grateful for all of that today!

Today after the boys morning nap we decided to take them to the park. I was dying to have Ryan see how much they love the swings and it was a beautiful day! It was actually kind of funny because as we pulled in Aleena was getting out of the car. This was not planned. Geoff was taking a test and she was watching her sister's kids so they ended up at the park too. Geoff, Jeff and Monica later joined us and what started out as taking the kids to swing turned into playing frisbee, baseball and hanging out! It was a great afternoon!

Ryan took the boys over and held them up to the monkey bars to see what they would do. Ryan let go (don't worry he stayed near by) and Easton hung there forever! It was so funny! Aleena was freaking out and came running over with her camera. He did it over and over. Brady was not interested in that, he just wanted to swing. I always put him in the baby swing and push him forever (since that is the only thing they can enjoy at the park) and every time I try to take him out he grips onto the swing and starts to cry. It is so cute! He loves the swing! We had a fun afternoon!

New Friends!

Today we are thankful for all the new friends we have made since living here in Henderson. We have moved into a wonderful area with a great ward and we have been blessed with lots of new friends!

We met our friends at Peter Piper Pizza today for lunch! It was so much fun! Here are some pictures of all Brady and Easton's new friends! They were so happy to be there hanging out!

Blue Eyed Boys!

I don't know, do you think they have blue eyes? (you may have to enlarge the picture to fully appreciate this!)

So I stole this from someone's blog but I thought it was a cute idea. Since this is the month of gratitude I am going to write something I am thankful for every day until Thanksgiving.

Today I am most thankful for the 3 wonderful boys in my life! I have been so blessed with a wondeful husband and 2 healthy, happy baby boys. I could go on and on about the three of them but if you check my blog frequenty there is no need. I will just say I am one lucky girl!

One more flashback...

Bear with me as I am sure you are all sick of my flashbacks but this was a good day I have to write about.

On November 7, 2006, after a long 3 1/2 weeks my kids were finally released from the hospital. This might sound weird, but I had vey mixed emotions about this...okay I was terrified. They had been on all these machines that would beep anytime anything was too low and they were surounded by nurses and doctors and I was nervous then so you can imagine how I felt about taking them home.

We had to go through quite the process to be able to take them home. The last two nights I had to sleep at the hospital to prove that they could get all their food from me or a bottle and didn't need the feeding tube anymore. Ryan and I had to watch all these movies about infant CPR and shaken baby syndrome. Brady and Easton had to sit in their car seats for 2 hours and be tested to make sure they could breath adequately there. Oh yes, and we had a special way we had to feed them their bottles which made me a stress case everytime they ate. I was glad when this was all over because it all just added to my nerves.

Ryan, my mom and Abbey came and met me in the morning to get everything situated. It was so strange when we finally got them unhooked from all their monitors and they were no longer connected to anything.

The time came to get them in their car seats and the straps were way to big on one of them. It took the 4 of us and 4 nurses to finally figure out the stupid car seat. It was actually kind of funny! We finally got them in their car seats, which seemed huge for how tiny they were, and we were on our way. I think Ryan was a little nervous to drive with them in the car but we made it home safely.
We immediately put them in the pack-n-play next to each other where they spent the rest of the day. It was so fun to have them home! That night we put them in the pack-n-play at the end of our bed. I kept getting up to check on them and make sure they were breathing. Finally I just moved the pack-n-play next to my bed so I could just open my eyes and see them. I slept much better that way.
Everything went great! We had no problems once we were home. I am so lucky that they were so healthy considering everything they went through. I have to say that finally taking my kids home and actually getting to be a mom was one of the best feelings ever! I just love these kids!

Pumpkin Patch

I am a little behind getting these pictures up but they are so cute! We went to the pumpkin patch a couple of weeks ago with my older sister Renee, her three kids and my mom. It was so much fun! It made it more fun to be there with Kylee and Nick because they were so excited about everything! After the pumpkin patch we took the boys and went with my mom to watch Mountain View (our high school) in state football. They won their first game but lost their second. Our kids were dressed in maroon and gold to show their school spirit! Here are some pictures from the big outing.

There's No Place Like Home!

After a good 3 week visit in Utah we are finally back home! It was nice to sleep in our own beds last night. My kids went to sleep at 7:30 and woke up at 7:00 so it was a great night! Ryan is back in school today and I am getting the house picked up and working so we are back to normal life. We are excited to see our friends here but will miss our friends and family in Utah, especially the birth of Saylor! Thanksgiving is only 2 1/2 weeks away though, who knew!

Happy Halloween!

Okay to start of this post I have to tell you this quickly. Since we were going trick or treating with River (my best childhood friend Whitney's little boy) I thought it would be fun to have a picture of Whit and I as kids together dressed up for Halloween. I have searched high and low for a good picture of us and have failed. This should not have been hard to find considering we have 12 million pictures together and spent every Halloween together since the time we were 4. This is the only one I could find and we are not sitting by each other nor is this the cutest picture...so annoying but it will have to do. If you cannot tell we are the two witches, I am the one with the hat pulled down so you cannot see my face. The other one is us tonight with our husbands and kids (Saylor is in Whit's tummy due 1 week from today) You really have to click to enlarge them to appreciate the pictures! We had a fun day! Ryan's mom came over to see the kids in their costumes this morning! A family tradition of ours is to have pumpkin bread bowls with soup on Halloween. I love to do tihs with my family! Tonight my mom made broccoli cheese and it was so yummy!
Tonight we went trick or treating with Whit, Wes and River. The kids were so good. Brady and Easton were thrilled chewing on the gum wrapper they got at the first house we went to. Ryan and I had to carry them everywhere and by the time we got home both of our arms were killing us. At every door we went to River was ready to grab a candy bar with each hand. It was so funny! We had a fun time and are glad we got to spend it with our best friends! I hope you all had a Happy Halloween too!
