Happy Easter!

We have had a great weekend! Yesterday we were able to go to an Easter Egg Hunt with our ward and it was great! They had it divided out by age and my kids hit the jackpot. We came home with a ton of candy. They all loved it, including Luke. If you don't know, my kids are terrified of characters. They won't go near them and they cry every time they see them. Yesterday Easton decided to conquer his fear and Brady followed. I was shocked when they walked up, gave the Easter Bunny a high five, and posed for a picture with him. Luke still wouldn't go anywhere near him.The Easter Bunny came and was very good to the boys this year.We start T-ball in a few weeks so the boys got a mit. Easton was thrilled that his already had his name on his (thanks to the brand)! We quickly wrote Brady's on his with a sharpie. Then we woke up Luke and let him join in the fun!He would not move from his new chair so all our pictures revolved around that!We have not forgotten what Easter is really about. We are so grateful for our Savior. "He is not here for he is risen!"Happy Easter!

Vegas Vacation

Ryan and I have been trying to take a vacation for a while now. I finally convinced him that we should just go to Vegas. He was a little reluctant because we lived there for 2 years so it didn't sound very exciting but it was what the budget allowed. We were thrilled when our besties (the Villamor's) decided to join us. It was a great vacation but way too short.

Our camera is still broken so sadly we have no pictures with the Geoff Hill Family who we were able to visit with on Sunday for a few hours. We love them and miss them so much!

Once we met up with Scott and Shea, we had the perfect vacation! We relaxed, played bananas, shopped, the girls got pedicures while the boys golfed, chatted, sat in the hot tub, saw KA, went to a movie, went to the temple, laughed our heads off at the people on Freemont Street, celebrated Shea's birthday, and loved every minute of spending time together! We are so lucky to still be such good friends with these 2! We love them!Til next time!

Mr. Sun

Ryan and I got back from a trip to Las Vegas and luckily the sun followed us home...at least for a few days. Friday was beautiful and we loved every minute of spending time outside. We have really lucked out in our home to have the best neighbors ever. We adore them! When we fenced in our yards it was a rule that we had to have a gate between each home. Because of our love for the Chrisman family, this has worked out great! We open the gate that divides our yards and the kids run out back and in and out of our houses. I always know that my kids are safe. It is the best! They also have a huge bounce house with balls and stuff that my kids love to play in. They pulled it out the other day and they played for hours while Emy and I sat and chatted. It was perfect!

These 3 do so well together!Little Miss MelLukey loves the bounce houseI am ready for the 70 degree weather to stay!

Overrated...

So I spend way too much time looking at blogs of these amazingly talented women who have beautifully decorated homes, cook delicious meals, and seem to be perfect, fun loving mothers. Sometimes i feel a little inadequate. Last week I decided I could do better at all of the above. I made an effort and I have since decided I shouldn't try so hard. Here is why...

Example 1: For St. patrick's Day I went all out (see post below). The boys loved it and it was fun! That night I was quickly trying to clean the green footprints off everything before getting the boys in bed. I wasn't thinking clearly and went from the floor to my stainless Steele fridge with an SOS pad. Needless to say my fridge is scratched and looks awful. It was so dumb and I am still sick every time I look at it. We are working on ordering some $50 kit that will hopefully help but seriously.

Example 2: Yesterday was a beautiful day! We headed to the backyard of our family friends to jump on the tramp and play on the swing set. They have a metal swing set with rings and the boys were loving hanging on them. I decided to be a "cool" mom again and show them what I used to do when i was little. I flipped myself backwards over the rings and they were freaking out! They started jumping up and down and yelling, "mom that was awesome! Do it again!" My arms were killing me so I told them I couldn't but then they started telling me to "just try one more time, please!" How could I turn that down. I tried like 5 more times but by that point my shoulders and arms were throbbing. They were sore all day yesterday but that was nothing. When I woke up this morning I was in so much pain. Ry did some tests to make sure I didn't tear something but thinks I just strained the muscles. I still can't lift my arms over my head and have been popping advil alll day.

I think I am retiring from being a "cool mom!" At least until I can raise my arms again!

The Decision

I debated for a few days which one of the bookshelves to do for the basement. Then I came across THIS. Ryan encouraged me to drive up to IKEA to check them out before we went through the hassle of building some. They are meant to be spice racks so they are small but they hold plenty of books. I bought 5 of them and figured I could start with 1 and then go from there. I didn't like the wood color so I painted them white to match my baseboards. I really like the way they turned out! The boys are loving them and have definitely been more into reading since I put them up. It is great! I have 2 more we haven't put up yet. If I put them further up the wall they will be too high for the boys to reach them. Although I thought that might be nice for the books I don't want them to get to. I could also put 1 lower but it would be really low. The other thought I had was to put them in the boy's rooms. If you can't tell I am horrible at making decisions!

Rainy Monday

Today is a rainy, windy, yucky day in Utah. We got up, cleaned the house, exercised (yes Brady and Easton do my videos with me), and ran some errands. On the way home they told me they just felt like watching a movie and eating popcorn. I thought it was the perfect day for that! They chose 101 Dalmations and cuddled up on the couch with their popcorn. Luke joined in on the fun from his highchair of course!

Special Visitor...

We had a special visitor come to our house tonight! I have been talking to the boys about St. Patrick's Day and telling them that a Leperchaun might stop by looking for gold. They have been so excited about it and have been telling everyone. Before they went to bed we placed "GOLD" (rolos) all over our kitchen for him to find. They are hoping they will be rewarded with a prize from him when they wake up.
He also turned our milk green! I can't wait to see their reaction in the morning!

He even remembered to bring something to our Daddy! Lucky guy!
