Yep you guessed it, we finally pulled the plug and decided the Accord was just not big enough for our family. After much arguing, Ryan finally gave up the fight and let me get my minivan. We got a Honda Odyssey and I love it! Now what do I say to all of you who are laughing right now, don't knock it until you try it. Ryan drove it home from Utah today and actually enjoyed it! We push a button on the keys and the doors open for us, we have an optional 8th seat and plenty of cargo for our huge double stroller. I could not be happier! I love my minivan. To be honest, I think my friend Amber and I signed a disclaimer back in junior high that we would never drive a minivan and here I am, proud as can be to have one! I guess things change huh?!? Today as we were driving home Ryan asked me what my car's name was?!? I said, "MY CAR huh?" Well he still calls the white corolla he has to drive "MY CAR" so I guess now I have 2 cars and he has none. We named it "LC" (for those of you who watch The Hills) but for Loser Cruiser. I am fine with being a loser, I am practical and happy with our new purchase :) We really are excited about it and seeing as Ryan and I have been married for 3 years and have gone through 3 cars in that time we are hoping that this one will last a while! Hopefully we don't have triplets next or we might have to upgrade to a 13 passenger van--then we would really get made fun of!

Welcome to the van clan! We've had ours for a year and a half now, and I will definitely not be going back for a loooong time. I love driving it, and it's SO much easier getting the kids in and out! Congrats -- sounds like a fun purchase!
I really don't want a minivan but if I had to get one I would have picked the same one. Congrats but I'm a little jelous I want a new car.
Thats so nice that you have a big car! I am dying for a car with a third seat. If I go anywhere with any of my friends, we have to take seperate cars because we don't fit with all of our kids. I keep begging Scott for a new car, so maybe he will breakdown one of these days!
Congrats on the "LC"! It will be nice to have all that room and still get good gas mileage.
Poor little Easton and his head wound! What is it with the holidays and the ER? We are all too familiar with it.
Hey I was also wondering if your kids are in forward facing car seats yet? Do you have any recomendations? I need to go and get mine, I just haven't been in a hurry since my kids aren't even close to 20 lbs yet.
congrats on the new car er um mini van. i told ryan if i ever have a mini van that is the only one i'll drive. i am glad you love it.
Thanks for the info! I heard that those car seats were really good. I know it's crazy that they are so little. At 12 months they were 15 and 17 lbs. They are good eaters, we just come from little families. I have been planning on switching them for a while, I just haven't been too rushed, but now they are definitely getting too big for their infant car seats.
You will never want to go back. It's so nice to have room to drive your kids and others too. I actually have extra carseats for just such occasions. Good job Ryan practicality is the way to go, especially with the cost of things lately. I'm sorry we didn't get to see you while you were here, hopefully next time.
Cute car and hey there is nothing wrong with a nice minivan....Brandon wasn't quite ready for that, but it wouldn't surprise me if we owned one one of these days!!
Sarah I am so jealous...I have been telling Nick we need a van...I love the honda odessey. Everytime we drive somewhere I tell him because our car is so stuffed with all our stuff we have no leg room. Congrats!
That is awesome!! How funny. I am sad to hear about the Emergency drama in Utah... That is so sad, but glad everyone is ok.... I guess it's just a good thing you didn't get hurt at the black friday sales :-)
I am excited to make my first trek in the mini van!! That is so much fun!!
Harold and I made the same pact, no minivan! But when we relented we couldn't have been happier. Now that we just have two kids, we are definitely going back to a nice four door sedan. I pout about not having more kids, but there are advantages! Enjoy the ride!
I must admit I was laughing at first but than I realized that mini vans are actually cool now. They have so much more than they used to. I vowed never to drive one because I remember when my mom bought her first one she kept saying that she deserved that car and was so happy and I thought she was crazy cuz it was a mini van. I am happy for you.
Nice ride Sarah! We actually have friends here in Hawaii that have one and the Odysseys are super nice. I signed the same disclaimer I think a long time ago, but in all reality a van is seriously the most practical car for a little family. Now we should all know why our parents drove vans... :)
Sarah has a mini van!!! ha ha ha! Just Kidding. You go girl. It looks nice. I can't wait for you to take me for a spin in it! Remember when we used to ride in Whit's brown van singing to all our great tunes and cruisin! Those were the days!
Boo freaking Hoo, Ryan! Hello! A Honda Odyssey is nothing to be ashamed of...you kind of sound like a spoiled brat if you ask me. Aren't we supposed to be roughing it through the college years anyway? (I have no room to talk so that's why I can write that.) Love ya, Katie
By the way, you look way pretty in that picture with the sun highlighting your hair just so. And you look tiny!
We just got rid of our minivan, and I must say, I was NOT sad to see it go. (Although you really can't beat the cargo space and easy entry) Can't wait to see it! Also, Haisel has a scar in the exact same spot as Eastons. We apparently didn't have access to a plastic surgeon. Oh well, she'll have a good story to tell someday!
If anyone could be sexy in a mini van that would definitely be you!
Sarah, you aren't the first and definatly not the last!!! I've heard once you get one you'll never go back!!! It looks like you guys had a crazy Thanksgiving. It sounds like you guys are doing awesome.
yeah! I am so glad to see that another McGiven boy is driving a mini van. I get so much crap from all the brothers about my honda (I get it from Kevin to). I say don't judge until you have more than one little kid, strollers, car seats, babysitters that need rides, and the kids friends. If you have all that and still have the nerve to rag on the mini van then you've got problems. Am I right or am I right! So I guess I am saying that Kevin has problems, although I do see the light in his eye when he doesn't have to get out of the car to let the kids in or out, he just pushes the door button and continues to talk on his phone. Did I mention it's glued to his ear.
Good buy!
Luv ya guys Linz

Congrats on the van. Doug keeps telling me how great they are and pointed out that the new Chryslers have a table in the middle so you could play cards on road trips. I am still pulling for a Tahoe or Yukon instead, which I think he is also interested in. Guess we'll use our Accord until we outgrow it. Good thing we wont't outgrow it all at one birth because we just bought it a year ago!
Sarah! YOU got a VAN!!! you are so cute! I loved reading about the whole experience! it looks fun! I heard those are really nice...i kinda want to take a ride in it sometime :) Is there room for me?!! :) LOve you Sar, it was great to see you at the reception!
That is so funny! I love that you are totally grown up with two kids and a mini van. I hope everything is going good for you and Ryan I miss seeing you guys around.
